Our Services
The Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) and Ecohomes assessments require the developer to provide all sorts of evidence to ‘prove’ what they have done. This may be as simple as supplying a copy of the plans but for some issues you need to commission particular reports or tests. UKCode can take remove the burden and provide these as part of our one-stop solution.
Call UKCode NOW on 01763 241797 or complete our contact form with details of your requirements to get a quotation.
Pre-assessment calculations and reports
Required by some planning authorities to be submitted with your application. They demonstrate that the development will meet the specified Code level and outline how it will be achieved.
SAP calculations
Required to meet Building Regulations Part L1a and to show the energy efficiency of the dwellings. Depending on the number of dwellings and type, UKCode prices start as low as £40 per dwelling.
Energy Statements & Renewable Energy Feasibility Studies
Required by many planning authorities to show that at least 10% of the dwelling energy demand will be met by on site renewables (the ‘Merton Rule’). UKCode can produce a cost-effective report that satisfies the planning requirement. A more detailed Renewable Energy Feasibility Study provides a comprehensive analysis of the options available and may be required to achieve credits for the Code assessment.
Code for Sustainable Homes assessments
Usually carried out at the Design Stage and then at Post-Construction for new domestic dwellings. We provide support each step of the way, explaining what is required, helping you decide the most cost-effective approach to meeting the specified Code level. We provide a comprehensive list of evidence needed and help you supply it. All part of the service and the price included in a UKCode quotation.
Flood Risk Assessments & Surface water calculations
Part of the mandatory requirement for the Code for Sustainable Homes. The new development should not increase surface water run-off from the development site. Our calculations ensure your site meets the requirements and provide designs for dealing with the surface water on site in the most effective manner. The level of detail required for the calculation and for a flood risk assessment and therefore the cost depends on the size of the site – but we guarantee to provide an affordable solution.
Ecological survey
Developers often spend money on a tree survey only to have to spend more having another survey carried out on the ecology of the trees and other vegetation. UKCode can save you money by combining the two – but you need to contact us sooner rather than later.
Daylighting calculations
Sufficient daylight ensures that artificial lighting is minimised and that parts of rooms do not appear ‘gloomy’. The Code for Sustainable Homes sets minimum levels of daylight for a number of rooms and it is critical to ensure the window size, type and dwelling layout and design are sufficient. UKCode can carry out the calculations for you. Contact us for a quotation.
Airtightness (Pressure) testing
An airtightness test is required for all new domestic buildings to comply with Building Regulations Part L1a and for Building control to issue a completion certificate. Testing also ensures the dwelling will meet the specification as originally designed.
Acoustic testing
For compliance with Building regulations Part E and to achieve credits for sound insulation under the Code for Sustainable Homes if the dwelling is not detached.
